Take a deep dive with me into understanding our brains, and how they impact our ability to regulate our nervous system.

We use our higher centres to comprehend our world.

But when there are imbalances between the right and left brain, sometimes we can view the world in certain ways, without even knowing why.

For example, left brain dominant people tend to be ‘smaller picture’, getting caught up on details and feeling rigid about those details. That might look like a person who struggles with change, or going with the flow - and gets stressed when forced to do so.

A right brain dominant person tends to look at the bigger picture, failing to recognise smaller details. This might look like someone who struggles to even SEE the finer details, constantly brushing over the surface of things, and failing to complete tasks or projects.

Not to mention, what if the dominant hemisphere controls how we perceive, process and feel stress? And even whether we can move through it to regulation, or get stuck in it?

If you’re interested in learning about the nervous system, how it works under stress, and how the brain hemispheres can make or break the stress response, this workshop is for you.

The Right/Left Brain and Your Stress Response

This workshop is designed to help you understand nervous system.

Covering right brain, left brain

  • How they develop (and when)

  • What happens when the hemispheres are developing at different rates

  • How to identify if you have a hemispheric imbalance, vs just have personality traits dominant in one hemisphere - ie where do you draw the line?

  • How the hemispheres impact the stress response - and why it’s not always your vagus nerve!

  • How the stress response influences our vagal tone, particularly during developmental years.

  • What can be done about it?

Spend 90 minutes with me online, understanding your own nervous system and world-lens.

Walk away clear on your brain, how it impacts your view and perception of the world, and things you can do to support it - whether that is with your stress response or with daily living.

When we understand our hemisphere patterns, we can understand how/why we respond to stress the way we do, and how to best support ourselves moving into a world where regulation is king.

This workshop is for you if -

  • You’re a mother, or caregiver, and are wanting to increase your own capacity to hold space for your children

  • You continually describe yourself as “sensory overloaded” / “not coping” / “overwhelmed” / “nobody understands me”

  • You feel like you’re always on the edge of rupture, and you can’t seem to regulate your nervous system

  • You work with children, and want to be a grounded presence for them

  • You know you have regulation issues [and maybe your kids have regulation issues too], and you’d like to understand more about navigating those in a way that is compassionate and easy-to-implement

In this workshop, we are going to walk through our hemispheres and vagus nerve, with time to reflect on our own experience, and finish with learning some tools to support our nervous system’s capacity for regulation.

We are all human, and we all have our limits. Through this workshop, we are not striving for perfection, but to deepen our understanding of how the nervous system feeds into our experience of daily life.
